The Z134 is the engine serial number not the tractor serial number. The tractor serial number should be on a small tag attached to the lower left corner of the dash with 4 screws. There are casting dates on the side of the transmission, center housing, etc that can be decoded to determine when the castings were made.

These are the starting serial numbers for the Massey Ferguson 135 for each year of build. Production ran for 11 years between 1964 and 1975, with many of the tractors still in use on farm today. The tractor identification plate that has the serial number stamped on is located on the instrument panel, just below the steering wheel. MF 135 No engine number I'm very impressed with the performance of this little work horse. According to the serial number which is located on the right side of the dash on a tag it was born in 1973 The tag reads MF135 432482.

The Massey Ferguson 135 tractor was manufactured by Massey Ferguson. The Massey Ferguson 135 (MF135) was the first of the Massey Ferguson 100 range and was a successor to the Massey Ferguson 35. Production started in 1964 and stopped in 1975 when the Massey Ferguson 235 succeeded it.

Several hundred thousand were built, and along with the sister Massey Ferguson 165, were the most successful tractors of the era.

The Massey Ferguson 135 tractor is still inquired after in the 21st century in the second-hand market due to necessary in developing countries.

One of the main causes is its simple mechanical construction and high reliability and familiarity with the model from farmers’ experiences studying at British farming colleges.

The Massey Ferguson 135 tractor was equipped with a 45hp 2.5L Perkins AD3.152 3-cylinder diesel engine.

Alternatives included a 37hp 4-cylinder Continental petrol engine and Perkins AG3.152 petrol variant in the United States.

It was a 2WD, and the gearbox had six forward and two reverse gears (3+1, high/low range) with a mechanical clutch.

Later versions came with an eight-speed transmission. There was a multi-power choice providing 12 forward and 4 reverse gears, plus a hydraulic clutch.
